The route of silence was rated as the best motorcycle route of 2022, something that is not surprising because of its extraordinary beauty. The route runs along the A-1702 and will take you through Andorra-Sierra de Arcos and Maestrazgo. A total of 63 kilometers of the most interesting landscapes of the province of Teruel. Stages of the Silence Route
The route of silence can be done in several stages, to get to know in depth everything you will find on your way. You can make as many stops as you consider and according to the time you have available.
Stage 1: Gargallo – Venta la Pintada
Gargallo is the beginning of the route, from which you can head to the town of Venta Pintada, 13 kilometers away. You will start your journey on a winding road that runs along the mountainside.
Stage 2: Venta la Pintada – Ejulve
At Venta la Pintada, the road starts to become even more winding, in order to access the scrubland, with bushes and a very interesting mountain landscape. This type of vegetation extends to Ejulve, 10 kilometers away, the next stop on the route, where you can enjoy a beautiful village with cobblestone streets.
Stage 3: Ejulve – Montoro de Mezquita
At this point, the road narrows and the road surface begins to be a little less uniform. The change in the landscape will make you find yourself in the middle of an almost lunar landscape. During your journey, you will be able to contemplate the monument that gives its name to the route: The Silent Route. After 18 kilometers, the rock formations known as the organs of Montoro, will welcome you to this town.
Stage 4: Montoro de Mezquita – Pitarque
After a stop in Montoro de Mezquita, you can resume your journey, in this case, on a road with good road surface and harmonious curves. After 12.5 kilometers of natural and wild scenery, you will reach the village of Pitarque. In this village of just 60 inhabitants, you will find the source of the river that gives its name to the town.
Stage 5: Pitarque – Villarluengo
At this point the road becomes wider, so you can enjoy the driving and the scenery until your next stop in Villarluengo, just 9 kilometers from your starting point.
Stage 6: Villarluengo – Cañada de Benatanduz
The road full of curves that link together in a harmonious way will allow you to enjoy for 13 kilometers the scrubland and gorges along the road. Finally, the road narrows again to welcome the biker to Cañada de Benatanduz.
Stage 7: Cañada de Benatanduz – Pelado
This is the last stage of the route, and one of the most fun for the rider, as the curves and the narrowness of the road will make you enjoy riding to the maximum. The scenery that you will enjoy along the way will take you to Pelado, where you can take a well-deserved rest.
