At a time when the sustainable transition reaches all sectors, the automotive world relies on electric cars as the main ally for a greener future. If in your case, you have already considered opting for one of them, we tell you all about charging points for electric cars.
Types of charging points
Especially since last May, when the Climate Change and Energy Transition Law was presented, we have been aware of the new measures that our government, among many others, have consolidated in order to promote the path towards a more sustainable future.
A horizon in which the automotive world, one of the main producers and emitters of CO2, has also undergone numerous changes. One of the most significant of these is the need for greater consumption of electric cars.
At a time when demand is increasing, many drivers have decided to opt for more sustainable cars which, at the same time, raise a number of issues that need to be resolved as soon as possible. And one of them is directly related to recharging points.
As the name suggests, recharging points are structures that allow safe recharging of any electric or plug-in hybrid car. These chargers are installed by means of anchors on the wall of a garage or specific point and are divided into different types:
- EV Portable Recharging Point: One of the most widely used points consists of recharging in both domestic and industrial connectors through a control unit. The main advantage of these chargers lies in their dimensions, being able to carry it with you in the trunk.
- Wall Recharging Point or Wallbox Wall: Generally known as Wallbox, these points allow a safe recharge through chargers installed by means of anchors in the wall of a garage, reason why it is fed from the electrical supply of the house. In addition to its economic cost, it has a simple and easy to use installation.
- Pole Charging Point: Also known as pole, this point allows fast recharging (80% in about half an hour). They are usually recharging points belonging to companies or public administrations, so they are of special interest when we are going on long trips.
- Recharging Point with Dynamic Power Control: This technology balances the charge between the power the car needs and other expenses without exceeding the initial power of the installation. This recharging takes place in any installation with a minimum of 1.8 kW.
Where are the main charging points in Spain?
Currently, Spain has up to 15,973 connectors distributed in 6,015 different points in our country, being the last ones installed in the CC Garbera parking lot in Donostia, and in Puerto Lumbreras.
